Tree House is built among branches and twigs. Commonly, tree house using big trunk beside it as its main structure. When we are talking tree house, we will rememorize our childhood adventure, when we were playing ‘hide and seek’ in it. Nowdays, tree house has many varians looking at its function and also form. It is used for recreational activities, work space, and other use it for live and many more uses of this tree house.

The most important thing about tree house that it must be lifted from the ground. Because it is lifted, there are just little contact area between this architecture with its landscape. By making its site as natural as before a building created by human, we have just save some ecosistem on it.

This simple tree house has learnt a lot. This architecture which had been founded since nomadic period make as little as possible contacts due to not change the habitat and ecosystem inside. This is some examples of tree house that i found:

New Zealand’s Whimsical Yellow Treehouse Restaurant

The new Yellow Treehouse Restaurant by New Zealand based Pacific Environments Architects Ltd. (PEL) is a stunning architectural feat perched high above a redwood first. Appearing for all the world like an enormous chrysalis grafted onto a 40-meter-high redwood tree, the project is constructed of plantation poplar slats, redwood balustrading milled at the site, and makes extensive use of natural lighting throughout.

Prefabricated shelters offers a jungle eco-retreat

Sitting among the canopy of a jungle forest near Yelapa, Mexico, these V-Houses by Heinz Legler are quite possibly an eco-adventurer’s paradise. The treehouse-like structures are lofted 16 feet above the ground and open on all sides to offer panoramic views of the tropical surroundings. Although the rooms measure only 16 feet by 16 feet, a slanted ceiling and open walls make the treehouse seem larger — blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. And to top off this eco-dream of a jungle retreat, the V-Houses were designed with modular components, made with sustainable materials, and have incorporated solar panels, composting toilets, and a greywater system.

The shelters are based on hooches in Puerto Rico and Oregon designed by Jo Scheer, but have a modern-ized aesthetic (the original was made of bamboo) with the use of steel, plywood, and red corrugated iron roofs. Based on a modular design, the houses were prefabricated in Puerto Vallarta and then brought by boat to the site. Once on the site, constructing the houses required no moving of soil or excavating as the houses were designed to be lofted on V-shaped stands planted into the ground.

O2 Sustainability Treehouse

Today, we’ve been introduced to a new pairing from O2 Sustainability: treehouse meets Buckminster Fuller. Much like the classic treehouse, Bucky’s geodesic dome recalls childhood construction toys and youthful visions of rebuilding the world in a geometric, utopian image. Since both treehouses and geodesic domes smack of idealism and youthful fun – you know that the two were meant to come together at some point or another. It seems only fitting then that O2’s Sustainability Treehouse brings Bucky’s legacy into a living tree to create a high-flying eco-friendly structure.

The 02 Sustainability Treehouse is a translucent geodesic sphere, suspended using a steel cable support system. The treehouse is built with 100% sustainable materials (your choice of recycled soda bottles or 3Form Ecoresin) and uses no nails or bolts, so it does not restrict or harm the tree. The design can accommodate any tree: single trunk, multi trunk, or even several trees.
